Wishing everyone a Very Happy Christmas and A Prosperous and Peaceful New Year.
The Rules are up now for the WPS WFB GT 2007.
The original intentions of the WPS was to run events which gathered like minded individuals together in a social environment to play games at a time when the tournament calendar was a lot less crowded and it provided a national alternative to Games Workshop events.
The WPS Committee have concluded the following:
1. Clubs that have supported the WPS have taken the plunge and are running their own events following a similar ethos.
2. The tournament calendar is now considerably busier than at any point in the past twelve years, during which the WPS have been running tournaments.
3. Owing to the above we now feel that some of the WPS events no longer offer anything that is unique, with the exception of the Club Challenge.
To this end the WPS Committee has taken the decision to only run the Club Challenge in 2008, which will again be held at Warhammer World in Lenton.
This means that for the foreseeable future the GT’s run throughout 2007 including those not yet played will be the last of this style of event run by the WPS.
This decision was not taken lightly.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all clubs and individuals who have supported the WPS and their events throughout the last twelve years, and we look forward to your continued support for any future endeavours.

The Warmaster Core Rules and CC rules have been amended to reflect the changes mentioned below and to streamline the rules pack. Please make sure you download the current rules that are not available.
The Warmaster Core rules have had a few tweaks made to them. The painting section has been cut down for the CC and the Tournament Points system has been changed.
Finally the Warmaster Rules have been uploaded.
The Blood Bowl Core Rules have been updated to reflect some minor tweaks found that were not wanted or incorrect. Warmaster Rules should be uploaded today.

The following rule sets are currently available for the WPS 2007 Club Challenge - WFB, 40K, Blood Bowl. There are no changes to the 2006 Epic Armageddon rules other than
the fact that 2 lists are now official - this will eventually be reflected in the EpicA CC rules. We are currently working on the WAB rules and hope to
have these ready some time this week. Please dont forget there is a painting competition this year at the Club Challenge.

The entry form for the Club Challenge 2007 is now available. Please note that due to a statement from GW we are unable to play non GW games systems at the event venue this year. This means that there can be no Flames of War CC event. It is too late in the day to look for a new venue but hopefully we can resume normal service for 2008 at a new venue that allows us to do what we want with the CC event.

NOTE ON DOWNLOADING PDFs
A number of people appear to have problems downloading forms or rules from the web site. Our suggestion is to RIGHT CLICK on the relevant PDF link and choose the option to OPEN IN NEW WINDOW. This seems to overcome these problems.
The rules and WAB Erratta are now available for download for this event which is being held at Warhammer World in Lenton.
The waiting is finally over! The rules for this event or now up. The only missing document is the bulky Erratta/FAQ which is being updated at the moment.

Thanks to all for attending and helping run what was a very successful event this year.
The WPS are looking for a part time web admin/author to take over much of the running and development work of the WPS web site.
The work would be in your spare time and unpaid (apart from our sincere thanks). It would be a great advantage if you were familiar with HTML, CSS, PHP and MySql.
Please contact conrad@players-society.com

Remember those lovely trophies that were up for grabs last year - painted by those lovely GIMP gentlemen? Well do you also remember the premise behind those trophies? The idea was that if you won a trophy and wanted to keep it, then you had to replace the trophy with a painted trophy of your own composition.
So if you won one of those trophies last year, then make sure you either bring back the trophy or replace it. We are keen to get in touch with the winners of the 40k and WFB Players Choice trophies from last year - if you are one of those poeple or know of them, please contact me conrad@players-society.com urgently!
The draft rules for the 40k event for the CC are available for you to look at now.
If you have any queries on it please make them known via email to andyh@players-society.com before the 1st May 2005.
You can down load the draft rules via WPS Stuff --> Rule Sets and follow the link to the 40k rules.
With the CC date fast approaching, we thought we'd give you an update on the state of entries so far.
We have 121 entrants so far with the split as follows:-
- 40 - 33 players
- Bloodbowl - 14 players
- Confrontation - 4 players
- Epic - 8 players
- WFB - 45 players
- Flames of War - 5 players
- WAB - 10 players
- Warmaster - 1 player
- LoTR - 1 player
Don't forget that we need 10 players in a particular games system to be able to run the event and that clubs should have players entered in to three game systems.
Please try and support the smaller events by considering entering them before going for the mainstream games systems.
The WPS apologise for any inconvenience caused whilst we are repairing the damage caused by hackers to the WPS FORUMS last week.
The forums are unaccessible but please take note that the rest of the site is running.
All WPS future events, including the Club Challenge have their details in the "Future Events" section. Event entry forms can still be downloaded from the same area ie Future Events.
The results and the benefits sections of the site are also still available for viewing.
Should you need to contact the WPS please use the committee members emails detailed under the "WPS Stuff" -> "Who We Are" menu options on the site.
